Google and co.cc

Posted on July 7th, 2011 in Domain News by dglosser

According to multiple reports (here, here, here. etc), Google has removed  over 11 million .co.cc websites from its search engine results pages on the basis that most of them are far too “spammy”.

However, this still means that the sites are still visible in other search engines and reachable via DNS .

We know of several organizations which have blocked  the entire co.cc subdomain and are whitelisting valid sites….

If anyone can send us a complete  list of these bulk registrars, we’ll publish it on our website.

193 domains associated with palevo, tdl3, rogues, mebroot and other badness were also added. Sources include amada.abuse.ch, securehomenetworks.blogspot.com, tristatelogic.com (Every source is  listed in the domains.txt file).

Please help to keep this site free and donate whatever you can:  All donations go to hosting and infrastructure costs.
